Albaraka Türk 2025 Integrated Annual Report

We transformed Albaraka Türk’s financial and sustainability performance into an integrated value creation narrative, bringing together integrated reporting advisory and report design.

Turning sustainable banking performance into an integrated value creation narrative

For Albaraka Türk’s 2025 Integrated Annual Report, we brought together integrated reporting advisory and report design through a holistic approach.

At Sustable, our focus was to connect the Bank’s financial performance with its sustainable banking approach within a single corporate narrative. We structured financial and non-financial performance to make the relationships between strategy, capital elements, risks, opportunities and value created for stakeholders more visible.

Rather than presenting Albaraka Türk’s activities and sustainability agenda side by side, we transformed them into an integrated reporting experience that demonstrates how the Bank creates value. The report itself brings together financial information and sustainable banking performance within a unified flow of information.

Making integrated thinking visible through the capital elements

We placed Albaraka Türk’s value creation model at the heart of our reporting approach.

By bringing Financial, Intellectual, Human, Social, Environmental and Investment Capital into a common structure, we strengthened the connection between the Bank’s resources, activities and resulting impacts.

Built around integrated thinking principles, this structure brings the Bank’s value creation model, strategic risk management and forward-looking objectives into a connected narrative.

This allowed us to transform extensive banking performance into a systematic corporate narrative that shows how different forms of capital contribute to long-term value creation.

Connecting sustainability with corporate strategy

We approached sustainability reporting not as a standalone presentation of environmental and social performance, but as an integral part of Albaraka Türk’s long-term value creation approach.

The Bank structures its sustainable banking strategy around environmental impact, social value and strong governance. This approach is supported by policies and practices covering environmental and social risk management, energy management, human rights, responsible procurement and other areas of sustainability.

By connecting these areas with the broader strategic narrative, we positioned sustainability as a core component of corporate resilience and long-term value creation, rather than a separate reporting topic.

Bringing reporting frameworks into a unified information architecture

We treated technical reporting requirements not as separate layers that interrupt the corporate narrative, but as elements that strengthen the report’s overall information architecture.

Drawing on integrated thinking principles and the conceptual approach reflected in IFRS reporting standards, we structured financial and non-financial performance within a connected reporting framework.

We also connected Albaraka Türk’s preparations for reporting under the Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS) and information intended for use within the TSRS framework with the report’s broader structure.

This approach enabled us to establish a clearer relationship between reporting frameworks, strategic narrative and performance information while maintaining readability throughout the report.

Turning complex banking information into a clear visual system

We approached report design not simply as a visual expression of corporate identity, but as a system that determines how complex information is read and understood.

Financial performance, capital elements, sustainability indicators, strategic priorities, risks and targets were structured within a consistent editorial framework.

Through information hierarchy, tables, charts and data visualisation, we created an integrated report design that makes extensive content easier to navigate and helps readers establish connections between financial and non-financial performance.

By treating design as a continuation of the reporting advisory process rather than an independent output, we established a consistent relationship between content, information architecture and visual communication.

Making the impact of sustainable finance visible

Our reporting approach also focused on making the measurable outcomes of Albaraka Türk’s sustainable banking strategy visible alongside its policies and commitments.

We positioned the Bank’s financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects within the broader narrative of supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy and creating long-term value.

In 2025, Albaraka Türk allocated more than TRY 2.17 billion to renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, enabling the report to support its sustainable finance narrative with measurable performance.

This allowed sustainable finance to be presented not simply as an area of commitment, but as a measurable performance area demonstrating how financial capital can contribute to environmental and economic value.

The value created

We brought Albaraka Türk’s financial performance, sustainable banking approach and value created for stakeholders together within a single integrated reporting perspective.

Through Sustable’s integrated reporting advisory and report design approach, we made the connections between capital elements, strategy, sustainability performance, risks and forward-looking objectives more visible.

The result is an integrated annual report that goes beyond documenting Albaraka Türk’s activities to clearly communicate how the Bank transforms its resources into value, manages its sustainable banking approach and shapes long-term value creation.
